Corneal B. Myers
Corneal B. (Neal) Myers was born in Richmond, Virginia. He received his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Washington & Lee University in 1943 and his law degree, with high honors, from the University of Florida in 1948. In that year he was the first editor of the University of Florida Law Review. His memberships included Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Phi Alpha Delta.
He has served as a Trustee of the Vanguard School of Lake Wales from 1983 to the present and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1986 to 1996. A trustee of the University of Florida Foundation for eight years and a member of the President’s Council, he is twice past President of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar and the American College of Probate Counsel.
Mr. Myers was a founding director of First National Bank of Lake Wales in 1959, which was subsequently merged into Sun First National Bank of Polk County. He served continuously on the bank’s Board of Directors from 1959 to 1992 and as a director of First of Orlando Corporation and Sun Banks from 1969 to 1991. He was Chairman of the Board of Sun First National Bank of Polk County from January, 1980, to January, 1984. He served as Chairman of the Trust Committee of Sun First National Bank of Polk County from 1979 to 1992 and as a director of Florida Progress Corporation from 1982 to 1992. In addition, he served as a director of Florida Power Corporation from 1978 to 1992. He is currently a director of Orange-Co., Inc., having been elected to the Board in 1992.
Mr. Myers practices in the firm’s Lake Wales office in the areas of estate and tax planning, corporate law, and probate.
