Douglas A. Lockwood III Receives Vocational Service Award
Douglas A. Lockwood III recently received the 2011 Vocational Service Award for business by The Rotary Club of Winter Haven. The Rotary Club recently presented the 2011 Vocational Service Awards to three individuals who have used their vocational talents to meet significant needs in the Winter Haven community. The award recipients are not members of the Rotary Club and they are selected by being nominated by members of the local community service organization. Each year honorees are selected in the vocational categories of government, business and education.
Mr. Lockwood has served as president of the Greater Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the Polk County Affordable Housing Task Force. He has served on the Winter Haven Planning Board and been a member of the board of Good Shepherd Hospice and Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Lockwood is currently on the board of directors for Ridge Art Association and Christ Community Church. Most recently, he founded the Public Education Partnership, a group of local business and community leaders who have volunteered to work with the public school system to make Winter Haven’s public schools a model community for successful public education.
