Background

Before attending law school, Mr. Keen attended Florida State University. His college years were spent in and out of Florida’s Capitol where he interned for various Florida Senators and led civic education programs on behalf of students across the state. Through his work, Mr. Keen was able to conduct research alongside professors and graduate students on behalf of the Reubin O’D. Askew School of Public Administration and Policy. He additionally served as a Chief of Florida State’s Student Conduct Board and as a member of its Academic Honor Appeals Committee.

During his time at Stetson Law, Mr. Keen interned for various judges across the state, including in the Tenth Circuit’s Bartow Courthouse and the Middle District of Florida in downtown Tampa. Mr. Keen’s activities at Stetson included serving as treasurer of the Student Bar Association, volunteering as a tax preparer in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), and competing on Stetson’s nationally ranked Trial Team.

Prior to joining Peterson & Myers, Mr. Keen served as an Assistant Public Defender for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, Florida.

Education

Mr. Keen received his B.S. in political science and psychology, with a minor in statistics from Florida State University in 2017. He received his Juris Doctor with a concentration in social justice advocacy from Stetson Law in 2020.
