Background

Prior to joining Peterson & Myers, Mr. Knowlton served as senior law clerk to Judge Stephen H. Grimes of the Florida Second District Court of Appeal.

Education

Mr. Knowlton received his B.A. degree, cum laude, in 1979 from Houghton College, where he was the recipient of a New York State Regents Scholarship, was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, and was elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He received his law degree from Syracuse University in December 1981.

Admissions and Associations

Mr. Knowlton is a member of The Florida Bar, the Lakeland Bar Association, Polk County Trial Lawyers Association, Christian Legal Society, American Health Lawyers Association, and Florida Academy of Healthcare Attorneys. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Knowlton has served as Vice Chairman of The Florida Bar Tenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee and was an original member of the Willson American Inn of Court. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Houghton College and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lakeland Christian School. Mr. Knowlton also serves as Chairman of the Houghton College Foundation. He is a member of the Institutional Review Board and the Ethics Committee of Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
