Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is planning a new tolled, limited-access highway linking Polk County to Osceola County to relieve congestion on U.S. 27. A number of cities in east Polk County are in the project area, including Lake Wales, Davenport, Haines City, Lake Hamilton, and Dundee. As of May 2025, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise has narrowed the location for the new highway to two routes. While a final route has yet to be selected, if you believe either route will impact your property, please give us a call.
Routes E and F, as shown on the map below, follow similar alignments to Kokomo Road, where the two routes diverge. Route F proposes a connection with U.S. 27 north of Waverly Road. Route E crosses Lake Hatchineha Road and then heads south to connect with U.S. 27. Both routes act to link northeast Polk to southeast Polk. However, Route F ends further north than Route E.
Peterson & Myers, P.A., represents property owners and business operators in Polk County and throughout Central Florida in eminent domain cases.
