Two new 230-kV transmission lines are currently planned by Duke in Polk County. One project goes from the Osprey Energy Center in Auburndale about 26 miles west to the existing substation in Kathleen. Currently, agents for Duke are attempting to buy easements from landowners for the line. Duke plans to file eminent domain lawsuits this year for property it does not obtain through negotiation. We have helped numerous property owners on this project in their cases. If your land is being taken please contact us for representation. Under Florida law our fees and costs for experts we hire to assist you are paid separately by Duke and not out of your compensation. Deborah Ruster has over thirty years of eminent domain experience and is ready to help you with your case.
The second project is the Haines City transmission line from Auburndale stretching out about 21 miles east linking to the Haines City east substation. Similarly, Duke is seeking easements for this companion project on which we have also assisted many property owners with negotiations. The overhead power line easements can create impacts on the property and we have the experience and knowledge to lead you through the process. Please call us at (863)683-6511 to talk to Deborah Ruster about your case.
