Philip O. Allen

Philip O. (Phil) Allen was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Mulberry and Lakeland, Florida. He received his B. S. in chemical engineering from Purdue University in 1970 and his law degree from Tulane University in 1973. Mr. Allen has practiced law in Lakeland since 1973 and was a partner in the law firm of DeVane, Munson, Allen & Yancey prior to joining Peterson & Myers, P.A. in 1996.

A member of the Salvation Army board of advisors (former chairman), the board of trustees of North American Communities Foundation, and Lakeland Vision, he is also a member of the Lakeland Rotary Club. He has served on the boards of the City of Lakeland employee’s pension fund, the City of Lakeland civil service board (former chairman), the Lakeland Regional Medical Center Foundation (former chairman), Children’s Home Society, Camp Fire, the Sheltered Workshop (former chairman), the Polk Theatre, the Lakeland Yacht and Country Club, and the Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center.

He is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Lakeland Bar Association, and the Estate Planning Council of Polk County (past president). Mr. Allen is both a member of and arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, and is an Honorary Master with the Willson American Inn of Court.

Mr. Allen practices in the firm’s Lakeland office in the areas of estate planning and probate, wills and trusts, trust administration, probate litigation, complex civil litigation, corporate law, and general practice.
