Amanda L. Walls is a shareholder with the firm and practices in the firm’s Lakeland office. She provides general counsel for business clients of various sizes, types, and industries with a focus on entity formation, corporate governance, business transactions, as well as labor and employment law compliance. She is experienced in matters involving wages and hours of work, medical and other leaves of absence, workplace safety, labor relations, age, race, gender, disability and religious discrimination, and trade secrets. She is also skilled in drafting employment agreements as well as reviewing and developing corporate policies, contracts, and governance documents.

Background

Ms. Walls relocated to Lakeland with her family after living in North Canton, Ohio for over thirty-five years. There, her law practice involved defending hospitals, physicians, and allied health professionals in professional liability litigation as well as general labor and employment law compliance, administrative advocacy, and litigation. She enjoys being active in the community and has been honored by both the Ohio State Bar Foundation with its 2015 District 14 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 & Under and the United Way of Greater Stark County with its 2015 Gold Key Award. She was recognized by yStark!, a division of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, as one of its “Twenty Under 40” community leaders in the year 2011 and has also been selected for inclusion in Ohio’s Super Lawyers® – Rising Stars™ (2009-2013, 2015-2016) and in Florida’s Super Lawyers – Rising Stars (2017-2018), as voted by her peers.

Education

Ms. Walls earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration, magna cum laude, from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2000. She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Akron School of Law in 2006.

Ms. Walls is admitted to practice in Florida, Ohio, and the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Ohio and Middle District of Florida. Ms. Walls is a graduate of Leadership Stark County’s 20th Class and is a member of Leadership Lakeland Class XXXVI.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Walls is also a member of The Lakeland Rotary Club and serves on it’s Board of Directors.

Personal

Ms. Walls lives with her husband, daughter, and son in Lakeland, where they enjoy the many benefits of a Florida lifestyle, including swimming, amusement parks, and keeping active.
