Background

Josh is a lifelong Polk County resident. Since becoming a member of the Florida Bar in 2003, Josh’s entire legal career has been spent with Peterson & Myers.  While his practice has always been concentrated in Polk County, Josh has litigated cases in state and federal courts throughout the State of Florida.

Education

Josh obtained his Bachelor’s Degree right here in Lakeland at Florida Southern College. He went on to pursue his law degree at the University of Miami School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded the School’s prestigious Order of the Coif.

Admissions and Associations

In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, Josh has been admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. He serves as a Guardian ad Litem volunteer for abused and neglected children. He frequently represents pro bono clients as a volunteer attorney for Florida Rural Legal Services, and he currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Florida Rural Legal Services. He served for 6 years on the Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee, and is currently a member of the Code and Rules of Evidence Committee.
