Background
Mr. Allen has practiced law in Lakeland since 1973 and was a partner in the law firm of DeVane, Munson, Allen & Yancey prior to joining Peterson & Myers, P.A. in 1996.
Education
Mr. Allen received his B. S. in chemical engineering from Purdue University in 1970 and his law degree from Tulane University in 1973.

Mr. Allen is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Lakeland Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Polk County (past president), and the Lakeland Rotary Club. Mr. Allen is a member of the board of trustees of the North American Communities Foundation. Mr. Allen has served on the boards of the City of Lakeland employees’ pension fund, the City of Lakeland civil service board (former chairman), the Lakeland Regional Medical Center Foundation (former chairman), Children’s Home Society, Camp Fire, the Sheltered Workshop (former chairman), the Polk Theatre, The Lakeland Yacht and Country Club n/k/a the Lakeland Country Club, the Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center, First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, and the Lakeland Rotary Club.
