Background

David represents privately held and publicly traded companies. He works extensively with family-owned businesses and has a unique perspective that is beneficial to them after having previously been Vice President and General Counsel for a large family-owned real estate and agriculture company in central Florida. David has been the lead attorney on numerous complex transactions including, several transactions for the sale of more than 30,000 acres per transaction; residential and commercial real estate developments; leasing of large industrial warehouses and retail centers; the sale and purchase of golf courses; the acquisition and sale of apartment complexes; finance and lending transactions (representing both lenders and borrowers); negotiation of conservation easements and mitigation banks; the acquisition and sale of aircraft and motor yachts; and assisting businesses transition their leadership from a senior generation to the next generation.

Education

David received his B.S.B.A in accounting from Auburn University (magna cum laude), where he was admitted to both Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma honor fraternities. He received both a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University.

David is a member of the Florida Bar and the North Carolina State Bar. He is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. David has been appointed to the Tenth Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for numerous community organizations and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Lakeland Christian School, Christ Community Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, Inc., and Polk Area Real Estate Council, Inc. He is a graduate of the Leadership Lakeland Class XXVII.
