Background

David represents privately held and publicly traded companies. He works extensively with family-owned businesses, and previously served as Vice President and General Counsel for a large family-owned real estate and agriculture company in Central Florida.

David has been the lead attorney on numerous complex transactions involving properties more than 30,000 acres in size; residential and commercial real estate developments; the leasing of large industrial warehouses and retail centers; the sale and purchase of golf courses; and the acquisition and sale of apartment complexes, aircraft and motor yachts.

David also represents lenders and borrowers in finance and lending transactions, and has extensive experience negotiating conservation easements and mitigation banks, and helping businesses transition their leadership from one generation to the next.

Education

David received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting, magna cum laude, from Auburn University, where he was admitted to the honor fraternities of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma. He received a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University.

David is a member of the Florida Bar and the North Carolina State Bar. He is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. David has also been appointed to the Tenth Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee.

David has served as a member of the board of directors for numerous community organizations and is currently a member of the board of directors for Lakeland Christian School; Christ Community Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, Inc. and Polk Area Real Estate Council, Inc. He is a graduate of Leadership Lakeland (Class XXVII).
