Background & Education

Kevin received his undergraduate degree with military distinction from the United States Air Force Academy, followed by a Masters of Science degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.  Kevin served eight years as an officer in the United States Air Force with assignments in Texas and Germany, and then returned to the Air Force Academy as an instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership.  Kevin then attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he graduated with high honors and served as the associate managing editor of the Florida Law Review. Kevin served six years on the Florida Supreme Court’s Commission on Professionalism, is a former chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee in the 10th Judicial Circuit, and is a former President of the Willson American Inn of Court.

Kevin is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell and board certified in civil trial law by The Florida Bar.  He practices in the Winter Haven office of Peterson & Myers, P.A. and has experience trying cases before judges and juries in a broad range of civil matters in state and federal courts, including commercial litigation, products liability, wrongful death, personal injury, trust litigation, condemnation, flooding, and constitutional law.  Kevin has also served as an appellate lawyer for clients before Florida district courts and the Florida Supreme Court.

Kevin is the past chair of the Polk State College Foundation, past chair of the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, and a former Rotary club president and assistant district governor.  He is currently the Chair of the Greater Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce.
